This is for the crew of L.S.T. 832 – The Mad Hooligans. Most of what’s here has been taken from the late Bob Franzago’s original site and is republished here to ensure its safe keeping. Credit and dedication are due the late Brooks Hamilton, the shipmate who diligently searched and found most of the crew. Because of him, the Hooligans have renewed and enjoyed old friendships. After he found the crew members, he wrote the book The Mad Hooligan Story.

During World War II, L.S.T. 832 was assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific theater and participated in the assault and occupation of Okinawa Gunto from April through June, 1945. Following the war, she performed occupation duty in the Far East until mid-December, 1945. L.S.T. 832 returned to the United States and was decommissioned on 30 April, 1946 and struck from the Navy list on 3 July, 1946. On 12, March, 1948 the ship was sold to Alexander Shipyards, Inc. New Orleans, LA for operation.
L.S.T. 832 earned two battle stars for world War II service.
